Fishing Report: The fall fishing has been exceptional, with abundant caddis and terrestrial hatches.
Our Recommendation: The Lower Gunnison is a great float trip right now. If you'd prefer to walk-wade fish, that is also a good option.
Jet boat trips are also a great option. We will be running the jet boat trips into the canyon through October - weather permitting after that.

Walk-Wade Fishing - Gunnison Gorge NCA
Pleasure Park to the Gunnison Gorge NCA (National Conservation Area) offers world-famous fly fishing with rainbow and brown trout. This trip is excellent for both beginners and experienced fly-fishing enthusiasts alike.
TRIP TYPE: You will be on foot, walking and wading in the water with your professional fishing guide.

Float Fishing the Lower Gunnison River
The Lower Gunnison offers world-famous fly fishing with wild rainbow trout and brown trout. It also features incredible desert canyon ecology, orchards, and petroglyphs.
TRIP TYPE: You will be fishing from a fishing raft with your professional guide.
Half-Day (4 hr) - $450 per 2 anglers
Full-Day (8 hr) - $600 per 2 anglers

Jet Boat / Dory Float Fishing - Gunnison Gorge NCA
You'll board the jet boat with all your fishing gear for the day. The jet boat will take up 4 miles to the Smith Fork drop-off. Once there, you will get into a dory with a professional fly fishing guide who will take you on your fishing adventure.
TRIP TYPE: You will have float-fishing and wade-fishing opportunities.
Half-Day (4 hr) - $500 per 2 anglers
Full-Day (8 hr) - $650 per 2 anglers

Cast and Blast (Hunting & Fishing Combo)
Experience the thrill and tranquillity of both hunting and fishing in one full-day adventure. Your day will be split into two exciting halves.
Start your day with a half-day of upland hunting at the North Rim Hunt Club in the morning. Embrace the challenge and enjoy the rush of upland hunting for pheasant and chukar.
Next, you'll spend your afternoon float-fishing the scenic lower Gunnison River. Your fly fishing expedition will stretch from Escalante to Dominguez Canyon, offering you access to one of the most productive trout hatcheries in the nation.
Groups are limited to 2 hunters per boat, plus your guide, for an intimate and focused experience.
TRIP TYPE: Fly fishing float trip and half-day upland hunt.

Float Fishing the Black Canyon of the Gunnison Gorge
Our Signature Trip: Fly fishing in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison Gorge is world-renowned among fly fishing enthusiasts. Known for its large wild rainbow trout and brown trout, it's revered as one of the most productive fisheries in the United States, offering world-class fly fishing – not to mention stunning scenery and abundant wildlife.
Your adventure will begin at Pleasure Park at 6:00 AM with a 4-wheel drive trip to the trailhead of Chukar Trail. A moderate hike down into the canyon brings you to the Chukar Beach. Don't worry; we use horses to pack all the river equipment into the canyon. Once at Chukar Beach, you will gear up in the raft for your 14-mile float fishing trip for the day.

2-Day (overnight camping) - $3,400 per boat
