2 Day - Whitewater Rafting (Class III and IV) - Gunnison Gorge

The Gunnison Gorge is a 14 mile long whitewater adventure filled with exciting rapids, gorgeous Precambrian rock formation and abundant wildlife.  Pool drop rapids range from Class II to class IV.  Native Colorado wildlife such as bighorn sheep, river otters, mule deer, eagles and wild chukar are often spotted.  The spectacular view of the deep canyon walls reveals some of the oldest exposed rock formations on earth.

Hikes, swims, are some of the adventure on the trip.

Getting to the river requires a moderate mile-long a trail; the rafts and gear are brought into the canyon on horse pack the day before the trip. You will need to carry your own personal gear down down the trail to the Chukar beach put in. The hike is well rewarded by canyon scenery, amazing views. Each day has a variety of exciting whitewater and calm water floating. GRE camp for the night will be on a sandy or grassy beach.  You can relax or take a hike toward the rim.

Only 12 people per day including guides are permitted to raft or fish the Gunnison Gorge, making this one of the most regulated rivers.
